Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly reached an agreement to sign Empoli goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario.

The deal is announced by Sky Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio on Twitter.

It’s claimed that Tottenham are buying the Italian player in a €20m deal.

Napoli are said to be waiting for the written offer from Spurs. That’s set to be delivered in the coming hours, and the transfer will be made official soon.

Vicario had been linked to several Premier League clubs in the past few months, and it was this week that the rumours about Tottenham’s interest got stronger.

SportItalia and Di Marzio both reported on Wednesday on Spurs’ efforts to land the 26-year-old, and never really mentioned how much the Premier League side were putting on the table.

The Sky Sport journalist even claimed that Vicario wasn’t Tottenham’s priority, as they had Brentford’s David Raya as their first option.

Now it seems something changed their mind, as they moved quite quickly to get the deal done. The goalkeeper had previously been linked to Chelsea and Manchester United, so Spurs may have had a good reason to hurry.
