The Spanish media have pointed out that change of scenario that Giovani Lo Celso has been having at Tottenham Hotspur.

Even though he’d been seen as a candidate to leave Spurs for Barcelona, it was said that he could become ‘essential’ for Ange Postecoglu and enjoy more minutes in the second half of the season.

Lo Celso continues to be linked to a departure from Tottenham, though, and Area Napoli today feature some claims about his potential move to Serie A.

The outlet quotes Antonello Gallo, who’s a journalist and a stated expert in the transfer market, and he claims that the Italian club could actually beat Barcelona in a potential race for the player in the winter window.

“Between Barcelona and Tottenham, Giovani Lo Celso could come on loan to Napoli, according to rumours…According to someone, the player has given his precise approval in the positive sense.”

Lo Celso has played 332 minutes in eight appearances for Tottenham this season. He’s been more involved for them recently, thanks to fitness issues.

Now with the Africa Cup of Nations on the way, he’ll be even more needed in Spurs’ midfield. That’s why this becomes a complex picture for a potential January loan, and even if it’s true that the player fancies a move to Napoli, it may not be in his hands.
