Despite multiple claims suggesting that Ivan Perisic could be heading to Turkey with Fenerbahçe, the Croatian will be leaving Tottenham, but for a different country.

This comes courtesy of Gianluca Di Marzio, who took to Twitter to reveal the news that the Antonio Conte favourite ‘should terminate his contract’ with Spurs ‘soon’ in order to go back home.

In fact, the Tottenham defender is ‘close to returning’ to Croatia where he would be signing with Hajduk Split, which is the club where he started his career at.

Kicking off his time there in 1995, the now 34-year-old stayed there until 2006, before a move to France with Sochaux, who bought him for €360k.

He then spent some time in Belgium with KSV Roeselare on loan and was then sold to Club Brugge, which is when his career really kicked off.

Transfers to Borussia Dortmund, VfL Wolfsburg and Inter Milan then followed, with the latter also sending him on loan to Bayern Munich for a season.

He then moved to Tottenham last summer at the request of Antonio Conte, and while he did do well, Spurs as a whole did not.

This led to the sacking of the Italian manager and the eventual arrival of Ange Postecoglou, who seemingly doesn’t have the Croatian in his plans going forward.
