Sheffield United are ‘ready to pay €1.2m’ to sign midfielder Anis Ben Slimane from Brøndby but could face competition from Frosinone for his signature.

That’s according to BT, who say the player is ‘ready to move on’ from the Danish club this summer and they are ‘willing to sell’ as a result.

They report that Slimane is in the spotlight for English and Italian clubs this in this window after four years at Brøndby.

Recently promoted Frosinone are considering bidding for him and would be willing to offer €500,000 to make a deal happen.

Their ceiling is dwarfed by what Sheffield United are willing to pay, though, with it claimed that the Blades, recently promoted to the Premier League of course, are willing to offer €1.2m for him.

Quite why they are willing to pay a significantly higher figure than their Italian counterparts isn’t made clear, but a deal is there to be done as Brøndby are ‘willing to sell Slimane’ this summer following a disappointing season.

He, likewise, is ‘ready to move on’ and start a new adventure elsewhere after 108 games for the Danish club since stepping up from the U19’s.

Whether that new adventure is in Frosinone or Sheffield United remains to be seen, but both are in the mix and ready to pay to secure his signature.
