We all know the current international break has been full of controversies, as most Premier League clubs didn’t even want to let their players travel to South America for the World Cup qualifiers.

Now despite the situation Tottenham Hotspur are currently handling with Cristian Romero and Giovani Lo Celso at Argentina, they received good news as Davinson Sanchez is returning to the club sooner than expected.

The defender was booked in Colombia’s match against Paraguay last night, and as he’s now suspended to their next game, he’s been released to return to England.

The problem is that people in Sanchez’s home country aren’t very happy with him, and there are two reasons for that.

First because the defender’s form for Colombia hasn’t been good, and the criticism has been all over the local media today. He was nutmegged in the build-up to Paraguay’s goal in the 1-1 draw, and got slammed for that.

Then at the end of the game, Sanchez was booked for wasting time. Now the outlets are wondering if that was done on purpose so he could travel back to England sooner than expected.

Bolavip state ‘Tottenham are exercising its power from England for the Colombian defender to take the next flight to London’, and Sanchez ‘deliberately wasted time to force a booking and this disables him from playing against Chile on the next qualifying date for the Qatar 2022 World Cup’.

So even though Sanchez’s early arrival could be accepted gladly at Tottenham, he probably won’t have the same reception once he returns to Colombia’s national team later this month.
