Spain has several sport newspapers, so rather than the big stories being on the back pages, they tend to get the front ones.

Tottenham fans will know their manger Mauricio Pochettino, and several players, have had this treatment from the likes of Marca and AS.

Back pages are often reserved for columns. So senior journalists will write about their opinions or any inside information they’ve managed to get their hands on. It’s a lot less hyped than the screams of the front cover.

That doesn’t mean there’s a shortage of claims and, on Tuesday, Roberto Gomez and his Marca ‘Let’s see what counts…’ column wades in on Pochettino.

It’s claimed the manager’s future is ‘not so clear’ at Tottenham, and there’s ‘fears’ of what may happen at the end of the current season.

Those fears are said to specifically relate to the Argentine potentially taking over at Real Madrid. Santiago Solari is currently the manager, but his honeymoon came to a crashing end with a humiliating 3-0 defeat to Eibar at the weekend.

Meanwhile, there’s an interview with Poch in today’s Gazzetta dello Sport, in which he explains he’s happy at Spurs and would like to win the Premier League with the club.
