Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte has always been an admirer of Lazio star Sergej Milinković-Savić.

That’s according to InterLive.it, who say the north London club would find it difficult to sign the midfielder because he is expected to join Juventus in 2023.

Massimiliano Allegri’s side are working out their finances in order to bring the Serbian to the Turin club. Once this is taken care of, it is difficult for Juventus to let the player escape from them.

This will not please the Tottenham coach since Conte was eager to negotiate Milinković-Savić’s potential arrival at the north London club, according to the report. This would see the Italian ‘turn all his attention’ towards Inter Milan’s Nicolò Barella.

Conte spent two seasons at the San Siro between 2019 and 2021. In his first transfer window at Inter, he signed the Italy international from Como. The 53-year-old now wants to reunite with his former player at Spurs.

Therefore, Tottenham chief Fabio Paratici could offer €70m to Inter and promise Barella of a salary of €8m net per year for five seasons. The website states this could see the overall cost of the deal rise to €110m, where they have not taken into account the gross salary.

InterLive.it don’t mention if the 25-year-old and/or Inter are ready to do business with Tottenham.
