On Sunday, we covered a story regarding the future of Sergio Reguilón, who is expected to return to Tottenham at the end of the season.

The defender has been on loan at Atlético Madrid since the start of the season, but he has struggled to convince Diego Simeone, mostly because he’s spent most of his time injured, and there is now no chance the La Liga side will try to sign him permanently, meaning he only has a couple of months left in Madrid.

He will then head back to Tottenham, and that’s why Mundo Deportivo state he is looking for a ‘sweet farewell’ from Atlético if he can.

This comes as he is set to return from his latest setback, and has the chance to impress as Reinildo is out until the end of the season.

The outlet state he wants to ‘end his rojiblanca experience well’ and has ‘just over two months’ to convince Simeone to play him.

With just five appearances and 97 minutes of game time to his name so far, he has a long way to go, but that’s his aim and it’s one Tottenham will want him to accomplish, as the more he plays, the likelier he is to convince someone to gamble on him in the summer.
