Earlier on Monday, we covered the strange backlash Matty Cash has faced in Poland following him coming off after nine minutes against the Czech Republic.

The right-back was accused of faking the injury and lacking commitment after it was revealed the player had returned to Aston Villa.

There was no news surrounding the severity of the injury, but Przeglad Sportowy seem to have found out before anyone else about it.

In an article on their website, they explain that ‘it’s worse than we expected’, with those around the Poland squad believing the player could be back in a week.

However, it’s made clear that ‘according to Aston Villa’s club doctors’, the player will be out for ‘three to four weeks’.

This means the Aston Villa player will now miss the fixtures against Chelsea, Leicester and Nottingham Forest, but could be back against Newcastle in mid-April.

The news comes after the player ‘underwent further tests’ with his club on Monday, and ‘they left no doubt’ that Cash would be out for a while.

The 25-year-old has been a regular presence in Unai Emery’s squads this season, making 25 appearances in all competitions for Aston Villa.
