Having probably had to Google the names Davinson Sanchez and Paulo Gazzaniga after their arrivals at Tottenham, there’s another name on the list for Danny Rose to search, and that’s Alfred Duncan.
The 24-year-old midfielder currently plays for Sassuolo in Serie A, and was a fairly regular starter last year for them when not injured.
Despite suffering from a ‘distortion of the ankle’ and a ‘tear in a joint capsule’, the Ghana international managed to feature 21 times in the league, scoring one goal and picking up one assist.
The news that Tottenham are interested in the player comes from Corriere dello Sport on Wednesday, although they don’t make a big deal about it.
There’s no mention of bids being prepared, and not even a potential valuation for the player.
Just that Mauricio Pochettino’s side are interested.
We’ll file this in the ‘to keep an eye on’ cabinet for now, just in case we see some development in the coming days, but we wouldn’t recommend you holding your breath yet about something happening.
This might be one for the future.
