Tottenham have Bayer Leverkusen defender Edmond Tapsoba ‘in their sights’ and could make a ‘surprisingly high’ €50m+ offer for the player.
That’s according to BILD, who say Spurs see the ‘very interesting’ defender as a top target and are ready to pay for him.
The newspaper provides a summary of potential incomings and outgoings from Leverkusen this summer today as the German club plan for a busy transfer window.
They are expected to see several current first team stars leave, and it seems Tapsoba is one of them who could depart.
The 24-year-old has regularly been linked with a move since his arrival and this summer it is Tottenham who have the player ‘in their sights’.
They’ll be undergoing a rebuild under new manager Ange Postecoglou and the belief is that they could make a ‘surprisingly high’ offer for Tapsoba, which would be beyond the €50m mark.
That seems like more of a guess than anything concrete from the newspaper and would be a big figure for Tottenham to pay given they’ve only paid €50m for more than a player three times.
Considering two of those were Tanguy Ndombélé and Richarlison, which have hardly worked out, we’re sure Daniel Levy will be looking to bring that figure down if Tapsoba is indeed a serious target.
