Tottenham Hotspur will this week fly into a ‘mega-crisis’ in Dortmund ahead of their Champions League game.

Facing BVB on Tuesday, Mauricio Pochettino is taking his side to face a team who are all over the place. There’s bad form throughout the team, there’s problems off the pitch, and doubts are increasing around manager Peter Bosz.

Bild call it a ‘mega-crisis’ with the German newspaper having several articles on the worrying situation. Should Bosz get a bad result against Tottenham and then the same happens in the match with rivals Schalke at the weekend, then Bosz could be edged out.

It’s individual mistakes which are causing the most problems for Dortmund, and that’s been increasingly evident at the back. In a separate article, Bild state that one of the things Bosz must sort out in January, if he’s still at the club, is a new goalkeeper.

Roman Bürki is said to be too inconsistent, and it’s stated that not trying to get a new goalkeeper in the winter window would be ‘negligent’. PSG’s Kevin Trapp is edged forward as a solution.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang continues to live like a superstar his football isn’t currently backing up, and was suspended by the club for the Stuttgart match at the weekend, which BVB lost, after inviting a Red Bull film crew to the training ground… without first seeking permission.

Dortmund’s defence is described as ‘extremely unstable’, and added to the goalkeeper problems, that certainly sounds attractive for Tottenham’s attack.

Pochettino probably couldn’t be taking his Spurs troops to Dortmund at a better time, and it should be a great opportunity to get some confidence back. But, then, football has habit of spoiling such scripts.
