With the rumours linking Barcelona defender Clement Lenglet to Tottenham Hotspur continuing to be on and off, the Catalan media has something to say about it today.

Newspaper Sport features a story claiming the player’s departure from the Camp Nou is ‘open’ again, as he could head to Saudi Arabia.

Speaking of Tottenham, it’s claimed that Spurs have become ‘tired’ of Barcelona’s economic demands, so they could now ‘throw in the towel’.

Sport writes that Spurs always claimed that if they had to take on the player’s high salary, they’d only pay a small fee for the transfer.

Barcelona continued to demand €15m for the sale, and as Tottenham jumped out of the picture, that now worries the Catalan side.

Even though the player was offered to the likes of AC Milan and Juventus, none of them want to pay his wages.

That’s why Barcelona are now interested in negotiating Lenglet with Al-Nassr, as they can pay for both the fee and the salary. The problem is that the defender’s priority was to stay in Europe, and the Saudi side now need to convince him.
