Real Madrid are worried that Tottenham won’t attempt to sign Gareth Bale permanently next summer after his lukewarm return to the club.

That’s according to Defensa Central, a Real Madrid fansite, who say the Spanish club are closely following Bale’s performances in England.

Bale made a stunning return to Tottenham on loan in the summer, having been frozen out at the Bernabeu by manager Zinedine Zidane.

The move was seen as a major plus for Spurs at the time, despite the fact they are paying a large part of Bale’s wages for a loan deal that does not include any purchase option or clause.

Sadly, though, Bale has struggled to rediscover his form of old under Jose Mourinho, managing just three goals in 11 games in all competitions and just 598 minutes of football in total.

At the moment, Tottenham turning his deal into a permanent one looks very unlikely and that is something Real Madrid are more than aware of.

DC report that ‘it is no secret’ that Bale’s start to the season has been disappointing and Tottenham ‘are not satisfied’ with him.

That has caused ‘concern’ at the Bernabeu, with those in charge at the club worried that Daniel Levy will not make an offer next summer.

It’s believed that Bale’s lack of form has could cause Tottenham to regret the move and thus not offer a permanent move, which would ‘feel like a real jug of cold water’ for Real.

While Bale is held in high esteem by Florentino Perez thanks to the trophies he’s wont, he doesn’t want him to return and that is a sentiment shared by Zidane.

If Tottenham elect not to make a move, they will look to find him a new club, with it decided already that he won’t return to the club or take part in pre-season should he not stay in England.
