Denmark’s defence looked more than a little shaky against Poland at the weekend, as Robert Lewandowski’s side went 3 ahead with around half of the match still to go. Denmark brought it back to 3-2, but were unable to find themselves an equaliser, and left Poland without any points.

As usual, the pressure had been on Tottenham Hotspur’s Christian Eriksen, as he himself had acknowledged before the match. It was never going to be an easy match for Denmark, and it was likely Eriksen was going to have to play very well for his country to win.

Danish newspaper BT say that Eriksen was ‘invisible in Warsaw’, and they explain it’s crucial to the team’s creative ability that the Spurs star produces the talent that everybody knows he has.

It’s not all down to Eriksen though, and Denmark need to be safe at the back, even against Montenegro.
