Paul Pogba coming off injured against Everton at the weekend was a big blow for Manchester United.

The midfielder had been doing well in the match, and there’s a reasonable chance Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side would have got all three points had he remained on the pitch for the full 90 minutes.

Things have been calm around the Frenchman for a few weeks, with him in better form than throughout the majority of his time with the Premier League, and his agent Mino Raiola deciding to stay relatively quiet for a while.

With a contract expiring in June 2022 and no sign of a renewal, Pogba’s wish to leave Manchester United is likely to move into the news again in the coming months.

Calciomercato say that three clubs are ‘ready to welcome’ the player with open arms. Those are named as Real Madrid, PSG and Juventus, with it being stated the Italian club remains in Pogba’s heart following his time in Turin.

Despite that, it’s worth pointing out that Madrid’s local media certainly isn’t talking up a move there, and in Paris the potential big signing this summer is Lionel Messi. That would be difficult, even on a free transfer, given PSG will have to give massive contracts to Kylian Mbappe and Neymar if the pair are to renew their contracts.

Juventus would also have issues raising the funds, and this could all be why Raiola has gone quiet. It’s one thing him talking up a move away from Manchester United in the next window, and it’s quite another him finding a club prepared to pay the fee and wages required.
