Saturday’s edition of Sport has five players on their front page, with the claim they’re all closing in on becoming Barcelona signings.
Robert Lewandowski is the main man, with the others being Franck Kessie, Andreas Christensen, Marcos Alonso and César Azpilicueta.
Christensen’s contract with Chelsea expires at the end of this month and he’s set to move to the Camp Nou as a free agent, just like Kessie. Barcelona are locked in talks with Bayern Munich over Lewandowski, and there’s confidence regarding the other two Chelsea players.
Sport say Alonso and Azpilicueta have ‘been signed for weeks’, it’s just a case of agreeing deals with the Premier League club. That’s a rather important part of a transfer process, and perhaps the Catalan newspaper are being a little arrogant on behalf of their local club.
Still, there’s confidence the moves can happen but there’s now also an acceptance it’s going to cost Barcelona money.They therefore need to arrange some exits before completing all the signings they have on their agenda.
