Fabio Borini has been linked with a move back to Italy this summer, as seems to be the case most summers, and winters for that matter. The Sunderland player is ripe for transfer this summer, and it could be the time he finally returns home.

Calciomercato have reported on comments the Sunderland forward made last night at a function in Spain when he was quizzed about joining AC Milan.

The former Liverpool and Chelsea player said he didn’t have any updates on his Sunderland future or a transfer to Milan, but hasn’t ruled out a move.

“Milan? We’ll see what happens during this transfer window. You never know.”

Due to Sunderland’s relegation to the Championship, Borini is expected to leave the club this summer. Clubs in Italy have been taking an interest in the player, but Turkish giants Galatasaray are also reported to be keen.

This week we covered reports from Turkey that Galatasaray are considering the Italian after selling Bruma yesterday. The Turkish giants have already asked about Borini’s wage demands to see if a deal would be feasible.
