Premier League clubs playing away in European competition often brings up some strange stories.

The local media of opposing clubs can get things wrong, predict teams which are incredibly unlikely and skew the history of the side they are facing.

Today, there’s something even stranger on Tottenham Hotspur.

Serbian newspaper Alo! go with a headline saying: ‘Harry Kane arrived under a false name’

They report, according to their own source, that Kane wasn’t on the passenger list for Spurs’ flight to Belgrade, ahead of the club’s match against FK Crvena zvezda.

Alo! say that despite there being hopes Kane may not be fit enough to play the Champions League match, he ‘unfortunately’ arrived at the airport with his teammates.

The newspaper’s source is quoted as saying: “Certainly there was no surname Kane and Eriksen. Only if they travel under another name anyway.”

There’s no explanation or even suggestion given for why either Tottenham player wouldn’t have been included on the passenger list, but it’s a curiosity that has certainly caught the attention of Alo!.

You may have noticed that the newspaper clipping has Harry Kane as Hari Kejn, that’s because it’s the Serbian custom to change spelling for a local audience.

Below is what Spurs’ team is expected to be.
