Ajax youngster Amourricho van Axel Dongen has hinted at a possible reunion with Erik ten Hag at Manchester United in future.

Van Axel Dongen is currently working his way up through Ajax’s youth ranks, having joined them as a youngster from OSV Youth in 2013.

Since then, he’s gone from Ajax Youth to the U17s, U18s and last summer progressed to the Under 21 set up.

He is very much one to keep an eye on for the future and has already made his debut for the senior team.

That was handed to him by Erik ten Hag, who gave him three appearances in the first team before his eventual departure to Manchester United this summer.

He’s not the only Ajax man to have done so either, with Lisandro Martinez and Antony following the Dutchman to Old Trafford in big money moves.

Van Axel Dongen is far from making that happen, yet, but has hinted he would be open to reuniting with his former manager down the road.

“I will remain eternally grateful to him for giving me the opportunity as a young player to play football with players like Antony and Dusan Tadic,” he told Voetbal Zone.

“I think it’s great to see that things are going a bit better with Manchester United; I really wish him that.

‘Unfortunately, I haven’t had the chance to speak to him since his transfer to United, but who knows, our paths may cross in the future.”
