Often speaking to the Argentine media, Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Alexis Mac Allister now gave an interview to ESPN.

There was obviously a long conversation regarding the national team and the compatriots who play with him in the Premier League, with the player praising the likes of Dibu Martinez and Julian Alvarez.

But there was also some time to speak of Brighton, with Mac Allister pointing out the club’s goals for this season.

He also claimed that he’s focused on doing well with the Seagulls so he can be in Argentina’s final squad for the World Cup this year.

“The objective at club level is to finish in the top 10. Last season we were ninth and we know how difficult it is,” Mac Allister told ESPN (via Marca).

“We want to keep being among the best ten in the long term, today we are fourth and hopefully we can maintain it.”

“Personally, the World Cup It is for me the biggest goal, what I think about, knowing that if I focus here first I have more chances of being there”.

In six appearances for Brighton this season, Mac Allister has surprisingly scored four goals already.

Two of them happened during the game last weekend, with the Seagulls trashing Leicester City 5-2.

With the midfielder’s scoring form being one of the pleasant surprises at Graham Potter’s side, we now see if Brighton will be able to keep up their great form, as their manager now seems to be abandoning ship as he edges closer to a move to Chelsea, where he would replace the recently sacked Thomas Tuchel.
