A lot of the Spanish build-up ahead of the Europa League match between Sevilla and West Ham has been about the players who will be unavailable to Julen Lopetegui.

Sevilla are under extra pressure to once again get to the final of the competition, and potentially win it, given the final will be played at their home ground, the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan.

The club had their Christmas dinner at the weekend, after it was delayed since December due to Covid-19 issues, and their president José Castro Carmona told the squad how important it is to progress against West Ham.

The big worry for Sevilla has been Anthony Martial.

The striker signed from Manchester United on a loan deal in the January window, and the Spanish side have attached huge hype to his signing. With a good record of scoring against West Ham, there’s been hope he could return from injury for the match.

Martial hasn’t played since since a La Liga match against Espanyol on February 20th.

Estadio Deportivo report he was back in training on Wednesday morning, so an appearance against David Moyes side is now looking much likelier.

Marcus Acuna trained again, so he’s also expected to be available.
