Following the attacks at Sporting’s training centre on Tuesday afternoon, the club’s players are reportedly working they way out already.

As reported by A Bola, sources say some footballers are in contact with the union to try to terminate their contract with the Lions, for just cause.

The outlet still doesn’t say which players are taking the action. Although Notícias ao Minuto claims that Rodrigo Battaglia is one of them. They quote a source close to the player as saying it’s “impossible to continue at Sporting”.

It’s also been claimed midfielder Bruno Fernandes has said ‘it was good to have been with you guys’ at the training centre this afternoon, suggesting that’s it for him.

This stampede could have a huge impact in the summer transfer window, since several Sporting players are being linked to English clubs.

From those who were reportedly beaten up, Rodrigo Battaglia is wanted by West Ham and Burnley, Dost had an offer from Newcastle last summer, Rui Patrício is followed by Wolves and William Carvalho is said to be in talks to join Everton.

Bruno Fernandes, Sporting’s man of the moment, is reportedly being followed by Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham.

The Everton and Carvalho claims are probably the strongest at the moment, and the Goodison Park club should surely take note of the situation.

Wolves have their connections through Jorge Mendes which would help get any business done and whilst moves would be opportunistic, if Sporting are going to allow an environment in which this kind of thing can happen then they deserve to lose their players.
