Aston Villa continue to have Geoffrey Kondogbia on their agenda after having looked at the Atlético Madrid player in the last two windows.

On March 7th, Fichajes.net reported the Villans are the ‘main favourites’ to sign the midfielder and could offer €25m to secure his services.

Marca on Saturday indicate Aston Villa could be the 30-year-old’s next destination in the summer.

The report focuses on those Los Rojiblancos players who could leave the Metropolitano in the next window and the former Valencia man is included in the list.

He and Yannick Carrasco are among the few who ‘want to leave’ the Madrid club. That’s because Diego Simeone hasn’t considered Kondogbia in the last few months.

He’s been restricted to 33 minutes of action from two games since the end of January. Therefore, he’s looking for a way out of Atlético after this season.

Marca state England and ‘specifically Aston Villa’, could be the player’s next club. His deal lasts until 2024.

The duration left on his contract and lack of game time this year could allow Unai Emery’s side to seal a cheap deal in the summer, if they are still keen to sign Kondogbia.
