Barcelona’s ‘technical secretary’ (that’s the position Mundo Deportivo use today, it’s been several other things too) Robert has taken a trip to Brazil, and it’s to work on Barcelona transfer business.
The Spanish club have got several lines of interest, and Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo explain in their Monday edition that Robert is rushing ahead with things, as interest from other clubs builds.
Barcelona’s Robert has watched Gabigol and Lucas Lima of Santos, and also Gabriel Jesus of Palmeiras. The club want to know how to act, should they be pushed into action because of other clubs.
With Santos, Barcelona have first option on several players, which was agreed as part of the Neymar deal. In reality, all it means is the club have to be notified should Santos agree a deal with someone else.
Last week Sport Witness was able to firm up claims that Chelsea had made an offer for Gabigol, with Brazil’s UOL putting the amount at €30m.
Mundo Deportivo don’t mention Chelsea in their Monday article, they probably should. It’s stated Juventus are set to make an offer for Gabigol ‘imminently’, whereas some other reports say that has already happened.
