In their Friday edition, Het Nieuwsblad has a big article on Victor Osimhen and a potential transfer this summer, with Southampton and Watford getting a mention.
The 20 year old is owned by Wolfsburg and has spent the season on loan at Charleroi. It’s believed the player could be sold for €15m this summer, and that would present a huge profit for the Belgian club.
When agreeing the deal with Wolfsburg they included a buying option of €3.5m, which will almost certainly be used.
Then, they can sell him on and seriously improve the club’s financial situation. AC Milan are said to have made a €12m offer in January, which was knocked back.
Now, Lille, Stuttgart, Watford and Southampton are ‘in the line’ to sign the player. The German club are halfway through a relegation play-off against second division Union Berlin.
Surprisingly, Stuttgart only managed a 2-2 draw at home in the first leg, if they can’t get through in the second then their chances of getting the youngster are surely zero.
Osimhen has scored 19 goals this season in 35 matches, a brilliant return.
The season before he made 13 appearances for Wolfsburg and failed to score once, but it was mainly brief substitute chances.
