As Antonio Conte prepares to have his first matches in charge of Tottenham Hotspur, there continues to be some optimism in Italy regarding the work he’ll do at the London side.

The latest to speak about it was manager Andrea Stramaccioni. Interviewed by Sky Sport, he had a few words on the former Inter Milan boss, claiming he’s a guarantee of success and making a fun comparison.

“It’s a cashier’s cheque, you always collect it,” Stramaccioni told Sky Sport (via FC Inter News).

“Tottenham experienced the post-Pochettino period as a transition period, something went wrong. The coach arrives with clear ideas, a best choice couldn’t be made.”

And as Inter Milan sporting director Piero Ausilio gave Sky Sport an interview on Wednesday night, there are a couple of quotes which should be of interest for Tottenham Hotspur fans as well.

Since the Nerazzurri had been Antonio Conte’s latest job, where he won the Serie A last season, the official was of course asked about the coach’s new challenge in London.

“Honestly I didn’t hear it because it was a really fast thing closed when we were already on the road,” Ausilio told Sky Sport.

“I can say that I’m happy and I wish him the best for this new adventure, I know how much pleasure he has to be able to work in the Premier League, how much passion and how many skills he has and I’m sure he will do well with the Spurs.”

Ausilio also talked about the situation of Marcelo Brozovic, whose contract with Inter Milan expires at the end of the season. The midfielder has been frequently linked to Tottenham as he’d be one of Conte’s requests for the upcoming transfer windows.

The director, however, made it clear that the Nerazzurri’s wish is to keep the midfielder.

“I can only say that we have enormous desire and pleasure to extend the contract and continue with him for longer. We’ll soon have a meeting with him and his agents and we will try to find a solution. He’s certainly an important player who we hope will be part of ours. I also plan in the future, but we need to hear what the other party thinks about it and we will do this in the next few days.”
