For the past couple of weeks, the Mexican media had been keeping an eye on the rumours which linked Wolverhampton Wanderers star Raul Jimenez to Manchester United.

Now with stories saying Juventus could also make an attempt to sign the striker, outlets from his home country have gone to work, and even interviewed his father to talk about his future.

Raul Jimenez’s dad, who’s also called Raul Jimenez, spoke at the weekend to Medio Tiempo, and talked about how happy his son is over being linked to European giants like Juventus and Manchester United.

“Raul has always said so, it’s something very cool (to hear clubs like United and Juve are keen),” he told Medio Tiempo.

“He’s very happy at his club, hopefully getting into positions for Champions League and Europa League at the moment. Always for him, all of that will be very gratifying, very cool to hear those comments.”

However, he’s also claimed these stories are only rumours for now, since neither of these clubs have made strong attempts to land the striker.

“Right now is the time of rumours, God willing the league hopefully resumes next month and that’s where we are right now. The rest, there is nothing. He’s only commented on what he sees that they publish, but nothing at the moment.

“Later if there is something different, it will be seen. But now, yes, they are mere speculation and rumours.”

Raul Jimenez’s father has also claimed that in case one of these bids arrives, it’s well deserved due to the great season his son is having for Wolves.

“Yes, that will come as a consequence, but today we are going to wait for this to resume.”

Earlier today, it’s been claimed in Italy it’s agent Jorge Mendes who’s been offering the striker to Juventus.
