Celtic youngster Rocco Vata is seen as a ‘great deal’ for Lazio this summer as they move to secure him ahead of the competition.
That’s according to Gazzetta dello Sport, who say the 18-year-old is very much a target once he becomes a free agent in the summer.
Vata has been making waves for Celtic B, with 14 goals in 24 games to his name this season and 12 in 15 in the Lowland League.
He already made his Celtic debut under Ange Postecoglou in the 4-0 win over Hibernian last year and has two appearances under Brendan Rodgers so far since his return.
His contract with the Hoops expires in the summer, though, and he could therefore leave Celtic Park at that point.
And his next destination could be Italy, Lazio in particular, who are monitoring his situation as they eye up a double deal in the middle of park with Antonin Barak also on their radar.
Barak would be the experienced player to boost the squad while the Celtic youngster would be one for the future and is seen as a ‘great deal’ from an economic point of view. That is something which is attracting other clubs to him, however.
Thus, Lazio are keen to move quickly and get a player they see as one for the future and who they know everyone at Celtic speaks very well of.
