Over the past few days, Manchester United’s Morgan Schneiderlin’s future has become the centre of attention in the English press, with reports of a move to Ronald Koeman’s Everton gathering a certain amount of pace.

The French midfielder, who appears to have failed to establish himself under José Mourinho at Old Trafford, has only made eight appearances this season, of which only three were starts.

With 11 minutes in the Premier League, a move away for the former Southampton star appears to be the wisest of moves at this time, and remaining in England, a country he has lived in since 2008, would probably be a priority. Therefore interest from Everton would make the shop hop to Goodison Park seem natural.

Nevertheless, a transfer to another country could be on the cards, even if it is a long shot, with Inter Milan monitoring Schneiderlin’s situation as they look around for a defensive midfielder in January.

A move to Inter Milan, considering their current struggles with FFP, would undoubtedly have to be a loan, yet with Everton ready to offer up to a reported £24m for the France international, there’s little doubt which option Mourinho would favour, especially if he decides to make additions to his own squad in January.

Schneiderlin leaving seems inevitable at this stage, but a move to Italy and Inter Milan? Unlikely.

Koeman and Everton certainly hold the advantage on this one.
