Liverpool have not taken Mario Balotelli to the club’s pre-season tour of the United States.
There doesn’t seem to be too many clubs interested in Balotelli, after he failed to impress during his loan spell at AC Milan last season.
Turkish giants Besiktas, however, are interested in signing the player, and president Fikret Orman had earlier confirmed it in an interview.
According to a latest report on Turkish website Fanatik, Besiktas have approached Balotelli’s agent Mino Raiola to learn about the costs required to sign the Italian striker.
The 25-year-old is currently earning €6m/season, and Besiktas are apparently looking for a sponsor to pay a portion of his wages.
Fanatik say if everything goes as planned then the Italian striker could sign for Besiktas ‘as soon as possible’.
Liverpool are desperate to offload Balotelli, and reports in the English media had suggested the club might also look to terminate his contract if they can’t find a club, although that’s a big legal problem.
