Former Aston Villa youngster Mason Birch is about to have a trial for Serie A side Chievo Verona, the Italian press says today.
As reported by Calcio Mercato, the 18-year-old will be evaluated by the Italian side between Thursday and Saturday, with a chance of joining them this summer.
The news is taken by a big deal by the website, who claims that Birch is considered to be one of the biggest potential talents in English football.
Calcio Mercato claims that the operation is being handled by OC Sports & Management in colaboration with agents Agabiti e Vallocchia.
Birch had a contract with Aston Villa until June, and as the website says, his ‘experience’ with the club is now over. That means he can move to Chievo on a free transfer.
The player never made an appearance for Villa’s first team, and spent the last season playing the U-18 Premier League.
