Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has been criticised for his latest comments following the draw with Rayo Vallecano and showing an Everton like mentality.

Bernabeu Digital cover reaction the Italian manager today, specifically from journalist Javier Rubiano, who is keen to remind Ancelotti that ‘Real Madrid is not Everton’.

The Spanish giants drew 0-0 with Rayo Vallecano at home over the weekend, a result which naturally didn’t go down well with the Real Madrid fanbase.

Their frustration was doubled after the game when Ancelotti made ‘unacceptable’ comments post-match, stating “I prefer to beat Barcelona than Rayo Vallecano” and “the team has shown its face and for me it is enough” among various other things that didn’t go down well with all the merengue fans.

Rubiano is one of them, labelling the comments unacceptable and ‘surprising’ for a manager who knows that Real Madrid ‘is the most demanding club in the world’.

He says Ancelotti showed a ‘conformist’ attitude to the media that does not fit with the image and demands of Real Madrid, so much so that some fans saw them as a sign that his time at the club has come to end.

Rubiano explains that if you don’t win a game at Real Madrid, particularly against someone like Rayo Vallecano, ‘an earthquake is unleashed’.

Trying to paper over that with a conformist message only makes the matter worse and that’s what has happened to Ancelotti in the last few hours.

He wants to point out and remind Ancelotti, despite it being an ‘incredible’ thing to do, that ‘Real Madrid is not Everton’ and the Italian would do well to remember that.
