This week, FC Midtjylland midfielder, and Rangers target, Evander had an interesting interview with ESPN Brasil regarding his current situation. He revealed he’s likely to leave the club this summer, as there’s an agreement for a friendly departure to a more competitive league.

The 24-year-old has recently been linked to Rangers, and there’s now an interesting update regarding that. As pointed out by journalist Gustavo Hofman, the player confirmed that the Ibrox side, along with FC Copenhagen, have shown interest in signing him.

However, we listened to the podcast and Evander made no mention of Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side. With Hofman being a reliable journalist, we must assume that this information was said off the record, or stayed out of the final cut of the interview.

What the player did say is that while he negotiates his exit from Midtjylland, Galatasaray showed up for talks, but couldn’t find an agreement so far. Still, he expects to find a new club before the window closes.

In the past few days, the Scottish media have been claiming Evander is a target for Rangers, who look to strengthen their midfield in this final stretch of the transfer window.

Considering the position he plays, the Brazilian has impressive statistics since joining Midtjylland in 2019, with 43 goals and 34 assists in 152 appearances. His current valuation on Transfermarkt is €7m, although there’s no price mentioned in ESPN’s story.
