Rangers defender Borna Barišić’s contract at Ibrox will expire at the end of this season and Philippe Clement will be aware there’s a big risk he leaves as a free agent in the summer.

On March 12th, we covered multiple claims from Turkey that Trabzonspor have stepped in to sign the 31-year-old. It was also stated the Rangers player’s agent will travel to hold talks with the Süper Lig side.

A day later, Ajansspor reported the Turkish club could make an offer to take the left-back away from Rangers.

The Croatia international seems to have received that offer from Trabzonspor, if a report from Fanatik is to be believed.

Trabzonspor manager Abdullah Avcı will have a transfer summit with the club president, after which they’ll make further effort to secure deals for the targets they have identified.

They have already started working on reshaping their squad for next season and for the left-back position, their focus is on the Rangers man.

According to Fanatik, Barišić had given the green light to their offer. The details of their proposal aren’t mentioned but it’s stated he’s ‘close to signing’ for Trabzonspor.

Barišić has managed a goal and six assists from 29 games for Philippe Clement’s side this season.
