Earlier today, we relayed news from Turkey which stated Galatasaray are in intense negotiations with Rangers to take Rıdvan Yılmaz away from Ibrox. It was also reported they are expected to make an improved offer after Philippe Clement’s side rejected their initial proposal.

The Istanbul club have until Friday to submit the squad for the Europa League, and want to get the deal done for the Rangers player before that.

According to Sabah, Galatasaray officials are ‘working overtime’, to try and convince Philippe Clement’s side to allow the 22-year-old to leave Ibrox.

The Süper Lig side have collected €30m from Sacha Boey’s sale to Bayern Munich, but the report says they aren’t willing to spend a lot to sign Yılmaz. Galatasaray want to convince Rangers to sanction a deal that’s favourable to them.

Philippe Clement’s side are unlikely to give approval, if Sports Digitale journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu is to be believed. He took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to explain that there’s still a difference of €1m between Rangers and Galatasaray.

He adds Philippe Clement’s side have ‘officially conveyed’ to the Turkish club that a fee of €4.5m is needed to sanction the left-back’s transfer.
