Following Bayern Munich’s 4-3 win over Manchester United in the Champions League last night, Brazilian outlet TNT Sports had the chance to make some interviews.

One of the people who journalist Arthur Quezada managed to speak to was Red Devils star Bruno Fernandes, who was clearly upset with the result.

On Twitter, TNT Sports shares a clip where they ask the midfielder about what was the problem with Manchester United’s performance. With them scoring three goals away against Bayern Munich in Germany and not winning the game, it was assumed the problem was in their defence.

Bruno Fernandes went deeper than that, and even claimed that the team’s defensive sector isn’t the only area responsible for not conceding goals.

“The problem is in everything. We have to score goals when we have opportunities, we have to know how to take advantage of them, and we have to defend as a team,” Bruno Fernandes told TNT Sports.

“All eleven players have to defend. We must all be linked and connected so that we help each other, and that means we don’t concede goals. It has nothing to do with the defensive part. Many times it even leads to the fact that we don’t press in the best way up the pitch, and we end up giving space in the transition to teams like Bayern who have very fast and strong players in one-on-one situations. It owes a lot to this, but all aspects have to be worked on at this moment.”

The midfielder then claimed that despite the three goals scored by Manchester United, the Red Devils should actually have scored more.

“We are in a moment that is not positive. Even though we scored three goals, the offensive part also has to be worked on because we have to score more goals at every opportunity we have. Due to the quality of the players we have, we have to be able to score more goals.”

Before Manchester United get back to focus on the Champions League, they now have matches against Burnley and Crystal Palace. They’re facing the Eagles twice, first in the EFL Cup, and then in the Premier League.
