Portuguese outlet TVI24 has brought a few more updates on Bruno Fernandes’ situation on the Mais Transferências show on Wednesday afternoon.

Journalist Rui Pedro Braz has now claimed the information they have is that Bruno Fernandes will play for Sporting against Benfica on Friday. Then he ‘should’ join Manchester United.

Luis Vilar, who was on the show as well, has commented on how strange it is that the midfielder will be playing the derby, since he could get an injury and the transfer could be cancelled. He claims to be ‘surprised’ about it.

Rui Pedro Braz was also asked if Bruno could play the cup semifinals against Braga on Tuesday, but he believes that would be a little too much for Sporting to ask, even though it would be the ideal scenario for them, since it’s the only competition they have the chance to win.

They’ve also spoken about the chances of Sporting signing Tahith Chong. Rui Pedro Braz says this possibility is only being talked about because of the negotiations between Sporting and Manchester United for Bruno Fernandes.

Still, the journalist makes it clear it’s very unlikely that it would happen, since the player is becoming a free agent in the summer and there are several clubs willing to sign him on a free transfer.
