Real Madrid took everyone by surprise this week by appointing Carlo Ancelotti as their new manager. The move came as a big blow to Everton, who thought they were building a long term project with the Italian.
Everton are now left to find themselves a new man to take the club forward, and they join other Premier League clubs also in the market for a manager. Tottenham Hotspur are one of those, and if AS are correct, they need to look beyond Mauricio Pochettino.
According to the Spanish newspaper, Real Madrid turned their attention to Ancelotti, and getting him away from Everton, when it became clear they wouldn’t be able to take PSG’s manager.
AS state Pochettino’s entourage informed Real Madrid that PSG have put their foot down over the Argentine’s future, and won’t be letting the manager leave the club this summer.
That would of course impact any Tottenham desire to take their former boss back, and AS specifically say Pochettino won’t be moving to Spurs this summer.
The manager is now expected to spend at least one more season in charge of PSG.
