Chelsea have emerged as one of the ‘strongest’ contenders to sign Barcelona’s Ansu Fati before the window closes on Friday.

That’s according Mundo Deportivo, who state the winger is ready to listen to offers as his continuity at the Camp Nou remains uncertain.

Xavi Hernández gave two days off to his players this week and the 20-year-old took advantage of this to carefully evaluate the best option for his immediate future.

Fati has managed 47 minutes of action from three games this season and believes it’s best for him to move away from Barca, which goes against earlier claims.

A firm decision hasn’t been made but the Spain international’s father, Bori, has asked his agent, Jorge Mendes, to listen to offers. Mundo add the player will make the final decision before Friday.

When discussing his options, the newspaper mentions Chelsea and it’s claimed ‘Mauricio Pochettino is in love’ with Fati.

The attacker will not play in Europe if he joins the west London club but Mundo say he will have a ‘more leading role’ at Stamford Bridge.

The newspaper states Barca will only allow him to leave on a loan deal and Mendes will find a club in the next few hours that pleases all parties involved.

According to COPE journalist Helena Condis, Fati’s father had a meeting with Mendes in Seville on Tuesday to discuss the player’s future.

The youngster was initially reluctant to leave Barcelona but has now given the green light after being pressured by his entourage.

As things stand, Condis claims ‘there is 75% chance’ he will change clubs.

She adds the Blues are one of the Premier League sides interested in the player and he’s ‘willing to listen to offers’ from clubs like Chelsea.

As well as from Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur have also been named as a possible destination for Fati.
