On November 15th, Arsenal’s Jorginho insisted he definitely wants to return to Italy at some stage in his career.

Three days later, the midfielder’s agent refused to rule out a move away from the north London club but insisted the Gunners are his client’s current priority.

Calciomercato.it state the player wants to represent Italy at the Euros next summer and could do that if he has a prominent role at Arsenal until the end the season.

The Brazil-born Italy international has made 17 appearances this season, which includes four league starts. He’s been restricted to 17 minutes of action in the last five matches and his recent situation at the Emirates has seen him linked to Juventus.

Calciomercato.it are of the belief these claims are partly influenced by the former Napoli star publicly talking about his desire to return to Serie A. His agent isn’t shy about making comments either.

However, the track leading to the Turin club is ‘cold’ since his stay at Arsenal until the end of this season is ‘not in doubt’ as things stand. That’s because Mikel Arteta’s side ‘won’t let go of him’ in January, despite the player not having a prominent role this season.

Jorginho’s deal expires in 2024 and Arsenal have an option to extend it for another year.
