Fabián Balbuena will cease to be a West Ham player at the end of June, when his contract with the Premier League club comes to an end.

It’s been clear for some time that the defender would be leaving the Hammers, and his agents have been open about their search for a new club.

Balbuena made 18 appearances for David Moyes side in the recently concluded season. At the beginning of the campaign he was regularly used, and then saw himself drop out of the reckoning from the end of December onwards.

The player’s agent Renato Bittar has been speaking to Versus Radio in South America, and insisted there’s plenty of options on the table for life after West Ham.

There had been suggestions Balbuena could move back to South America this summer, however, Bittar has appeared to rubbish that.

Versus quote the agent as saying: “We have several things for Fabian, most likely we will continue in Europe. There are several options, we are in no hurry because the tournament just ended. The best leagues are asking about him, he will continue in European football.”

La Liga and Serie A are seen as the likeliest options for the 29-year-old to continue his career in European football.
