Cucho Hernandez’s season is over, which means there’s a good chance he won’t play for Getafe again.

La Razon report the Watford owned player fractured a metatarsal against Atletico Madrid at the weekend and is expected to have surgery on the injury on Monday. That surgery will see him miss the rest of the current campaign, with La Razon not holding up any hope whatsoever of an earlier return.

The 21-year-old had made 21 La Liga appearances for Getafe so far this season, scoring two goals and adding three assists whilst playing mainly as a striker and sometimes on the right wing.

Given the injury and continued financial difficulties in Spanish football, it’s not thought Getafe will absolutely make a move to keep the Watford youngster for longer.

Cucho Hernandez is expected to go through his recovery process with the Hornets, and then a decision will have to be made in the summer regarding where he’ll play his football next season.
