The transfer of Matheus Cunha from Atletico Madrid to Wolverhampton Wanderers is now reported by the Brazilian media.

Big outlets such as Globo Esporte and UOL now confirm that the striker is on his way to the Molineux.

Globo Esporte writes that Cunha is joining Wolves on a loan with an obligatory buying option, which is of between €40m and €50m.

They add that the striker ‘will undergo medical on Wednesday’ ahead of signing for the Premier League side.

It’s pointed out that Cunha only made 17 appearances for Atletico Madrid this season, two of them as a starter, and that’s the reason why the La Liga side made his departure easy.

Meanwhile, UOL reporter Marcelo Hazan also comes up to confirm the transfer. He says the clubs have ‘forwarded’ the negotiation, claiming the clause for Wolves’ obligatory purchase is of €50m, which is a detail a little different from Globo Esporte’s.

Cunha joined Atletico Madrid on a €30m move from Hertha Berlin in the summer of 2021.

He even had a decent first season for the Colchoneros with seven goals and seven assists, and is now set to try to recover his old form at the Molineux.
