Following reports from the English media this week saying Cedric Soares is about to move from Arsenal to Fulham, we now get to see the Portuguese press reacting to the news.

Outlet Desporto Ao Minuto went after the story and ended up learning that Marco Silva’s interest in the player ‘is, in fact, real’.

The outlet, however, makes it clear there is no agreement between Fulham and Arsenal for now, despite what has been recently claimed.

It’s recalled that Marco Silva knows Cedric Soares ‘well’, since they worked together at Sporting between 2014 and 2015.

At Arsenal this season, the fullback only has 120 minutes played in four games. He was given a few minutes on the pitch in October and November, and it seems clear he’s not in Mikel Arteta’s plans for the squad going forward.

That’s one of the reasons why Soares didn’t even make it to the World Cup squad, and with Marco Silva offering him a chance to play more at Fulham, it all seems like a matter of the two clubs finding an agreement for the transfer now.
