Starting with a report in one of Portugal’s biggest sport newspaper, Darwin Nuñez’s move to Liverpool is picking up pace.

Record splashed their front page with a claim that the Reds were offering €100m for Benfica’s star striker, and the rest of the media soon followed, catching up with their story.

More and more details have emerged since, with various other reports being published, such as Pedro Sepúlveda’s.

Taking to Twitter, the journalist broke down the deal that appears to be taking Nuñez from Portugal to Liverpool.

He makes it clear Benfica ‘have already received the offer’ from the Reds for the Uruguay international, which is said to be of €80m in fixed money and €20m in bonuses.

Furthermore, Nuñez, with this seemingly well on its way, ‘will sign a five-year contract with Liverpool’, which would keep him at the club until 2027.

A big show of faith from Jürgen Klopp’s side, who narrowly missed out on both the Premier League and the Champions League this season, and who might be hoping that extra goals from someone like the Benfica striker will go a long way to helping them achieve their goals next season.
