On Thursday, Milliyet stated Fenerbahçe have been offered an opportunity to sign Everton midfielder Andre Gomes.

The Turkish transfer window closes later today and the 30-year-old continues to be linked with a move to the Istanbul club.

Fanatik have a report explaining the four players the Yellow Canaries could sign today and the Everton player is included in the list.

The 30-year-old hasn’t made an appearance this season and has been left out of Sean Dyche’s plans. Therefore, the Portuguese midfielder wants to leave the Merseyside club ‘as soon as possible’ and the outlet suggests he has no option but to join a Turkish club.

It’s further claimed Everton and willing to part ways with him and ‘ready to provide all kinds of facilities’ to help the deal along.

Gomes’ deal expires in 2024 and this would suggest the Toffees could terminate his deal to allow him to join another club for free.

These factors make it easier for Fenerbahçe to sign the midfielder, but his poor injury history is the ‘most important reason’ why they have ‘abstained’ from this operation.

It feels like both Everton and Gomes’ camp are pushing for a transfer, rather than there being a keen interest from Fenerbahçe to acquire his signature.
