Tottenham Hotspur’s transfer business over the past week has largely involved trying to sign Radu Dragusin from Genoa, with the Italian media saying on Saturday that Spurs are determined they won’t overpay for the defender.

That could provide a route in for Napoli, who are also keen to get him signed but want to offer a player plus cash deal.

Meanwhile, it would appear Tottenham are also working at the other end of the pitch, at least if claims from Germany are as reliable as they seem.

Timo Werner has been linked with several Premier League clubs with regards to a move in the winter market, with even Manchester United said to be in the picture for a loan deal.

Florian Plettenberg now reports the RB Leipzig forward is ‘on the verge’ of joining Tottenham, in a surprise move which would be a loan until the end of the current season.

Werner is said to be ready to leave RB Leipzig’s winter training camp and presumably travel to London to complete the formalities of a move.

Further details, such as a potential buying option, should become clearer in the coming hours.
