Player could have Sheffield United medical in ‘next few hours’ – Transfer to Wilder’s side ‘almost closed’

On Thursday, El Periódico Mediterráneo reported Villarreal’s Ben Brereton Díaz is expected to complete a move to Sheffield United this week.

Ben Brereton Díaz will join Chris Wilder’s side on a loan deal until the end of this season, without a purchase option. His departure will lighten Villarreal’s wage bill and also make room to sign Guedes.

The Chilean spent four seasons at Blackburn Rovers before leaving them as a free agent last summer. He’s now set to return to England to join the Blades.
