Atlético Madrid’s Rodrigo De Paul has turned down a chance to join Tottenham Hotspur, according to a claim on Friday morning.

After spending five seasons at Udinese, the former Valencia man returned to La Liga when Los Rojiblancos acquired his services last summer.

In his debut season at the Metropolitano, the midfielder made 49 appearances in all competitions, which includes 24 starts in the league. Despite clocking close to 3000 minutes with Diego Simeone’s side, reports have linked him with a move away from  Madrid.

Tottenham seem to have made an offer to sign the 28-year-old in the ongoing window, if a report from TuttoMercatoweb is to believed.

It’s said the Argentina international has received several offers from clubs across Europe and this includes Spurs and Fiorentina. De Paul has ‘refused’ proposals from these clubs. That’s because the South American ‘wants to stay at Atlético’, where he has a contract until 2026.

TMW only state De Paul has rejected Tottenham and provide no details of the offer made by Antonio Conte’s side.
